From Cashiers, travel west on US-64.

From Highlands, head east on US-64.

If you're coming from Cashiers, make a right onto State Route 1144 (Norton Rd.). For those coming from Highlands, take a left onto State Route 1144 (Norton Rd.).

Travel approximately 5.6 miles on Norton Rd., then take a left onto Yellow Mountain Rd. You'll cross a small bridge over a creek.

Continue on Yellow Mountain Road for about 2.6 miles. Turn left onto Mill Creek Road by the Baptist Church.

Watch out for the GPS, as it might try to take you up Zeb Buchanan Road off of Yellow Mountain Road. If you end up at a nice gate with a guard shack, you took the wrong road.

Drive along Mill Creek Road for around half a mile. Look for a cluster of mailboxes and a weathered shed or garage. Take the rocky driveway that has a dead-end sign leading you up the mountain to the green gate. Check your email for the gate code. Proceed up the rocky road. Keep driving until you reach a brown two-story house with three parking levels and a wrap-around porch.

Short Cut from Franklin

Buck Creek and Cold Mountain Road offer a more direct route with fewer turns, taking off approximately 5 or 10 minutes. However, it's important to note that Cold Mountain Road is gravel and might become challenging after heavy rainfall. We suggest using a 4x4 vehicle for this road.

The trash collection is scheduled for Wednesday mornings and will be managed by the "Trash Company." All garbage should be securely bagged and positioned at the far end of the central driveway. To deter bears, I've chosen to keep the trash cans closer to the house.

The town of Cashiers is conveniently located around a 15-minute drive away and has an Ingels store. On our way to the cabin, we usually aim to make a stop at Walmart in Franklin, Sylva, Clayton, Hendersonville, or Asheville.
